My sixty plus year journey for wisdom began early when I asked God to take me on the hunt for its treasure. First, He had me search His Word. Next, He pointed me toward those who could share it because they were products of it. Lastly, He taught me to be attentive to hear its voice whether at church, the mall, or a convenience store. Wisdom is very much a hands-on kind of thing. Transparency is its mirror, truth its foundation, and joy its prize. I hope the daily nuggets from Wisdom from the Rearview Mirror makes you smile, encourages you to add to your own treasures of Wisdom and pass the ones you like on to others. A scripture from Proverbs for each month is included on each page. $15.00 +tax and shipping |
Healing for the Holes In Our Souls
|
They reside just below the surface of our inner being. They have been there a long time. Caused by unwanted trauma and skewed relationships, they are repositories of volcanic emotional material. They are the holes in our souls, and they are common to us all.
How careful one has to be to keep these holes covered or camouflaged in order to operate with some semblance of normalcy in everyday life. It is an exhauting process to cover up what is inside so that it does not blow up outside. Is there greater hope than the misery experienced from the meticulous regimens of self-protection? Indeed there is! Healing for the Holes in Our Souls reveals steps of significant hope leading to greater wholeness through the awesome work of the Soul Maker and the Soul Healer-Jesus Christ. About the author... No stranger to early trauma in life and the resulting soul wounds, author Sharon L. Patterson has written and ministered for thirty years concerning the emotional healing she has experienced from the Great Physician. She has shared the experience of that healing through the process the Lord used to bring stability and maturity of her own emotional health. Through simple testimony, use of God's truth in scripture and special prayer, Sharon invites readers to join her journey to their own greater healing. |
A Soldier's strength from the psalms
|
Knowing that no one comprehends the challenges that a soldier faces like another soldier, the inspiration for this book comes from the writings of an ancient soldier who righteously protected the innocent, stood firm on the ferocious front lines of battle; patrolled dangerous checkpoints, walking the lonely late night and early morning watches, guarded city gates, climbed rugged terrain in all kinds of weather, and fac4ed enemies in the deserts and on the mountains.
That soldier, Kind David, endured many of the same experiences as today's military men and women. He also needed and drew strength daily from Almighty God. He wrote of his struggles and victories, recorded his prayers and praises from his experiences. What encouragement, hope, and comfort come from the Psalms he left to us. This devotional countdown calendar/journal is meant to be a source of daily encouragement, a place where military members and their families can record feeling and events that have impacted them during their deployment experience. It is a legacy of shared courage and sacrifice of and for the outstanding men and women who serve our great nation in military service. Note about the author... Sharon L. Patterson is the wife of a retired career military officer and mother of two sons presently serving in our nation's military forces. |
